Australian Koroit boulder opals are found in the geological area in South West Queensland, Australia. They have the beautiful and unique opal flashes of color coupled with a dark and gritty look. Since the matrix often consists of ironstone, a type of sandstone that is rich in iron and other minerals like manganese, the gem will have some darker hues. The opal flashes are contained in the multi variations and patterns of the matrix.
Katrina Kelly designed these elegant and rusty-colored opals in a diamond pavé setting to bring out the flare and shine of the opals.
