How to Clean Gold Jewelry
If your gold jewelry doesn't look as "golden" as it once did-give it a gentle clean.
You don't need to use expensive jewelry cleaners to get that sparkle back.
Place a couple drops of liquid dish detergent in a bowl of lukewarm (not hot) water. Sodium-free seltzer water or club soda works well. Carbonation may help loosen accumulated dirt and debris.
Soak the gold in the solution for 15-30 minutes. Then use a soft toothbrush to gently clean the gold.
Rinse the piece in warm running water, and voilà !
*Do not use extra hot, or cold water. (If the gold has stones, use extra precautions –especially with opals and pearls. https://katrinakelly.com/blogs/news
